Transitions

The Transitions series sits between two larger bodies of work, Light on the Horizon and Breaking Through.

These oil paintings on metal - copper, brass, steel and mirror - explore moments of shift and change, occupying a liminal space where nothing is fully fixed. The surfaces catch and reflect light, so the images remain subtly in motion - responsive to both the environment and the viewer. This sense of flux is important to the series as it reflects change as it’s happening.

Layers of paint are added and removed, with marks built up, interrupted, and reworked, mirroring the unfolding and often non-linear nature of transition.
